Students accepted into the Shooting Stars program will work together as a team 2 days a week and cover lots of work. This program helps to develop dancers’ skills in a broad range of styles more quickly and effectively.  Members will be entered into 4 competitions throughout the year in Jazz and Contemporary/Lyrical, and will have the opportunity to participate in their jazz and ballet exams if they are at a passable standard and wish to do so.  They will of course also be a part of our bi-annual concerts.  The members of each team will grow and develop as a group from a young age.  This will result in a great camaraderie and team spirit.

 

The training hours are as follows:

MINI NOVICE – Age 9 and Under – 4.25 hours a week + additional classes:

Classes include 45 minutes acro, 1 hour jazz troupe, 45 minutes contemporary/lyrical troupe, 1 hour Cecchetti exam class and 45 minutes jazz technique.

*HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Under 7/9 ballet class

*HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Jazz exam class of your level

YOUTH NOVICE – Age 12 and Under – 4.75 hours a week + additional classes:

Classes include 45 min acro, 1 hour jazz troupe, 1 hour contemporary/lyrical troupe, 1 hour Cecchetti exam class and 1 hour jazz technique.

*COMPULSORY Under 9/Under 12 ballet class

*HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Jazz exam class of your level

 

YOUTH – Age 12 and Under – 6 hours a week + additional classes:

Classes include 1 hour acro, 1 hour jazz troupe, 1 hour contemporary/lyrical troupe, 1 hour Cecchetti exam class, 1 hour jazz technique and 1 hour pilates.

*COMPULSORY Under 12 ballet class

*HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Jazz exam class of your level

 

JUNIOR – Age 15 and Under – 6 hours a week + additional classes:

Classes include 1 hour acro, 1 hour jazz troupe, 1 hour contemporary/lyrical troupe, 1 hour open ballet technique class, 1 hour jazz technique and 1 hour pilates.

*COMPULSORY Cecchetti class

*HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Jazz exam class of your level

 

OPEN –Age 14+ 4.5 hours a week + additional classes:

Classes include 1.5 hour dance troupe class, 1 hour Cecchetti class, 1 hour jazz technique and 1 hour pilates.
